Four Key Truths of Christianity

While systematic theologies tend to pidgeonhole Christianity, often leaving out room for the entirety of Scripture, there is value in ensuring we know what we believe and why we believe it. For that reason, let’s rationalize four of the clear tenets of Christianity.

1) God is Real.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.   Genesis 1:1

Every house has a builder; the builder of all things is God.   Hebrews 3:4

The fool says in his heart “there is no god.”   Psalm 14:1

2) Sin is Real.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.   Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

3) Jesus is Real.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.  John 1:1, 14

You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.   I John 3:5

4) Revelation (i.e. Scripture) is Real.

God…in these last days has spoken to us in His Son…   Hebrews 1:1-2

All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good deed.   2 Timothy 3:16-17

So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention to…no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.   2 Peter 1:19-21

He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.   John 12:48

Establishing these truths should burgeon your faith and motivate you to share these fundamental truths with your evangelistic contacts.
